The Special Services At Home Advisory Committee is
comprised of parents of special needs children and adults in receipt of SSAH
funding. As well as agencies who support special needs families and
the Central East Region of the Ministry of Community and Social Services (MCSS) and the Ministry Of Children and Youth Services (MCYS).
The SSAH advisory committee provides information to special needs
families and the SSAH
Program.
Goals
The committee has several goals as outlined in the
Terms
of Reference, most notably:

The SSAH Advisory Committee is the place for SSAH
users to provide feedback to the SSAH program regarding issues
relating to respite and service delivery.

The SSAH Advisory Committee provides information to the
community regarding the SSAH program.
Projects
Mediator Card
The committee in collaboration with the Ministry of
Community and Social Services have a region wide mediator card that will serve as identification
for 1.1 mediators when accompanying a person with special needs in the
community. This mediator card will be provided
to families with each SSAH authorization. Existing SSAH families will receive a
mediator card at the time of contract renewal. For more
information on how to obtain a mediator cards, please contact your
agreements officer.

EVENTS
The committee hosts an annual Workshop / Information session every
April.
Join Us!
We encourage SSAH families to contact committee members to express
their interest in joining the committee. We have developed an
orientation package to provide information for families. Please contact
us by e-mail, phone or by attending our next meeting and participating.
